Susi McDermott was born and raised in Germany and has played cello since she was eight years old. She has been teaching cello since 2015 and she is active in the music community of Kirkland where she enjoys playing spiritual music with the St John Vianney  choir and music ensemble.  She also is a member of a small Jazz Band 'Skip the Dishes' who perform locally.

Susi  welcomes students of all levels and ages, and is open to all styles of music from classical to Jazz and popular music. She likes to create a positive and fun learning environment where she  feels that each student deserves lessons catered to his or her own individual need.    Susi teaches cello lessons in her home on Finn Hill in Kirkland WA.

Learning the right technique is essential to develop a beautiful tone and playing in tune.  During her lessons students will learn techniques that will enable them to play effortlessly, creating that beautiful cello tone that everyone loves to listen to (including  family members during practice!).  Learning how to read music, develop rhythm, and play in tune are some of the goals that Susi will work towards with her students .
